Nigerian Senate backs fuel subsidy removal and has asked the federal government to immediately implement the palliative programmes. The Senate took the decision after an executive session on fuel subsidy. Meanwhile the House of Representatives asked the Nigerian Labour Congress to shelve their planned strike action.
