In Defence of Fr Mbaka.
In the Holy Bible, 1 Samuel, Chapter 15 Vs 1, “Samuel said to Saul, I am the one the Lord sent to anoint you King over his people Israel, so listen now to the message from the Lord”. This can be likened to the initial message Fr. Mbaka gave to Patience Jonathan about her husband.
In 1 Samuel, Chapter 16 Vs 1, The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as King over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way, I am sending you to Jess of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be King” This represents Fr. Mbaka’s message to vote out Jonathan.
In law, later laws abrogate prior contrary law. See Akintokun v LPDC (2014) 13 NWLR (Pt. 1423).
