Crisis: PDP Holds 2 Parallel National Conventions Simultaneously.
The Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday 21st May 2016, held two parallel national conventions at Port Harcourt and Abuja simultaneously. The faction led by its national Chairman Modu Sheriff held its convention at Port Harcourt. A former Deputy Senate President Ibrahim Mantu was at the Abuja factional convention. He insisted that the culture of impunity, disrespect for democratic principles, outright disregard of the party constitution which led to their electoral loss in 2015 is prevalent among members. PDP has been experiencing leadership tussle.
