Buhari’s Certificate Saga.
As 2019 election draws closer, Buhari’s secondary school certificate saga resurrected once more like it did in 2014/5. President Buhari said then in 2014 that his certificate was with the Nigerian army, he produced a sworn affidavit to support his claim. However the military authorities denied that this certificate was with them. Premium Times exclusive report, dated January 21, 2015 explicitly states that the medium, “obtained the computer printout from Cambridge University as well as a statement of result, signed by the current principal of Katsina College, dated January 21, 2015…The Cambridge print out also shows the result of 17 other candidates at the centre, including Shehu Yar’Adua, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.”
On 2nd November 2018, West African Examination Council (WAEC) presented President Buhari with a senior school attestation certificate, this same WAEC could not find records of Buhari’s certificate in 2015, this is fuelling more controversy like it did in 2014/5. The controversy is not likely to go down in a hurry. It’s interesting to note that PDP took President Buahri to court over to his WASC certificate at the Federal High Court Abuja, under Justice Adeniyi Ademola, however the suit was withdrawn by the plaintiff.
